Sabzevar: Ali Pouyan Moghadam arrested to serve prison sentence

Ali Pouyan Moghadam, a citizen from Sabzevar, Razavi Khorasan province, was arrested by the Iranian government forces' raid on his home and was transferred to the central prison of this city to serve his six-month sentence.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, the Iranian government forces in Sabzevar stormed the house of Ali Pouyan Moghadam and arrested him by resorting to violence and transferred him to Sabzevar Central Prison.

Hengaw has learned that Ali Pouyan Moghadam was recently summoned by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sabzevar to serve his sentence.

He was previously sentenced to 6 months in prison by Branch 1 of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sabzevar for the charge of "propaganda activity against the Islamic Republic of Iran" and this sentence was confirmed objectively by Branch 35 of the Court of Appeals of Khorasan Razavi Province.


Ali Pouyan Moghadam was arrested on Thursday, May 4, 2023, by the Iranian Intelligence forces, and two days later, he was temporarily released from prison after posting bail.

He was arrested by the security forces on October 2, 2022, during the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement, and was released on December 6, 2024, after posting bail.
