The Death Sentence of a Prisoner Carried Out in Qazvin Central Prison

The death sentence of a prisoner named Abbas Rashidi, who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was carried out at Qazvin Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, 2024, the death sentence of a 45-year-old prisoner named Abbas Rashidi was carried out at Qazvin Central Prison (Choobindar Prison).

According to informed sources, Abbas Rashidi was arrested about three years ago and was sentenced to death by the Qazvin’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court for drug-related charges. 

To date, the news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
