Two prisoners executed in Zanjan Central Prison

The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Mohammad Reza Haji-Khani and Mehran Soltani, were carried out in Zanjan Central Prison. They had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran for “premeditated murder,”

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, October 22, 2024, the death sentences of Mehran Soltani, 30, and Mohammad Reza Haji-Khani, 27, both from Zanjan, were carried out in this city’s central prison.

Sources stated that Mehran Soltani was arrested five years ago, and Mohammad Reza Haji-Khani three years ago, both on charges of “premeditated murder” and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

To date, the news of the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced in state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
