22 political defendants sentenced to a total of 161 years of imprisonment in Isfahan

 The judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran has sentenced twenty-two political defendants in Isfahan to a collective 161 years of prison time and additional penalties. The defendants include Samaneh Amooshahi, Maryam Farhang, Marjan Beshtam, Mina Nadaei, Zeynab Parandeh, Minou Heidari, Bahar Soleimani, Shamim Baharzadeh, Mahshad Kashani, Hoda Sadeghi, Erfan Khalilian, Mehrshad Barjiyan, Pouya Talebian, Kian Talebi, Roozbeh Dana, Pouya Dana, Mohammadreza Ghotbi-Zadeh, Sima Terkiyan, Mohammad Sokhanvar, Amir Ajamian, Parsa Haji-Aghaei, and Amir Salari. 

 According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Samaneh Amooshahi, 33, received a 23-year sentence from Branch 1 of the Isfahan Revolutionary Court under Judge Mohammad Tavakoli, facing charges of “forming a group to disrupt national security” and “insulting Khamenei,” with 10 years enforceable. 

 Marjan Beshtam, 43, and Minou Heidari were each sentenced to 11 years on similar charges, with 10 years enforceable for Beshtam and 5 years for Heidari. 

 Shamim Baharzadeh received an 8-year sentence for “propaganda against the government” and “insulting Khamenei,” with 5 years enforceable. 

 Additionally, Mahshad Kashani, Hoda Sadeghi, Erfan Khalilian, Mehrshad Barjiyan, Pouya Talebian, Maryam Farhang, Kian Talebi, Mina Nadaei, Roozbeh Dana, Pouya Dana, Bahar Soleimani, Mohammadreza Ghotbi-Zadeh, Sima Tarkiyan, Zeynab Parandeh, Mohammad Sokhanvar, Amir Ajamian, Parsa Haji-Aghaei, and Amir Salari were each sentenced to 6 years, with 4 years and 6 months of these sentences suspended. 

 The defendants experienced severe physical and psychological pressure during detention in Isfahan security facilities last year. 

 They were arrested between July 2023 and August 6, 2023, in Isfahan, later released on bail from Isfahan Central Prison, Dowlatabad, and the Isfahan Juvenile Rehabilitation Center.
