Kurdish teacher Hamid Azizi arrested in Kamyaran; whereabouts unknown

Hamid Azizi, a Kurdish teacher with the Kamyaran Department of Education, was arrested and transferred to an unknown location after being summoned to the security office of the Department of Education. Four days have passed, and his fate remains unclear.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Hamid Azizi, who holds a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran and works as a teacher in Kamyaran, was detained after responding to a summons from the security office of the Department of Education. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location. Notably, Hamid Azizi had been teaching at schools in the villages of Palangan and Gazerkhani in the districts of Kurdistan (Sanandaj) province.
Informed sources report that efforts by his family to obtain information about his fate and whereabouts have so far been unsuccessful.
