Three prisoners executed in Isfahan Central Prison

With the identification of another prisoner, Behrouz Ghasemi, from Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, the number of prisoners executed last Thursday in Isfahan Central Prison has reached three. Hengaw had previously reported the execution of two other prisoners.

According to a report received by Hengaw, at dawn on Thursday, January 9, 2025, the death sentence of Behrouz Ghasemi, a Lor prisoner from Yasuj, was carried out in Isfahan Central Prison.

A reliable source stated that the prisoner had previously been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and was sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hengaw had earlier reported the execution of two other prisoners on the same day, identified as Samad Najjar Asl, a father of two, and Houshang Shahi, 40 years old, from Lahijan and also a father of two. They had likewise been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the executions of these three prisoners have not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
