Two Kurdish men arrested in Mahabad and Bukan by security forces

Two Kurdish men, Anwar Kurd from Bukan and Keyvan Niknam from Mahabad, have been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Their whereabouts are unknown.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Anwar Kurd, a 27-year-old resident of Hisar Balaghi village in Bukan, was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.
On the same day, Keyvan Niknam, a resident of Mahabad, was also arrested following a raid on his home. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed facility.
Sources report that the arrests were conducted without the presentation of an arrest warrant.
As of the time of this report, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for their detention, or the charges against them.
