At least 7 Arabs arrested by security forces in Khorramshahr

Amin Motaveri (Abu Asal), a former Arab political prisoner, along with at least six other individuals identified as Hassan Ghani, Abbas Naeimi, Ahmad Sharifi, Sajjad Ja'aveleh (Abu Kamal), Mohammad Motaveri, and Samir Khanfari, were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Khorramshahr, located in Khuzestan Province.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, January 20, 2025, security forces arrested Amin Motaveri, 38; Hassan Ghani, 34; Abbas Naeimi, 37; Ahmad Sharifi, 40; Sajjad Ja'aveleh, 39; Mohammad Motaveri, 30; and
Samir Khanfari, 40, in Khorramshahr.
The Karun Human Rights Organization stated that Amin Motaveri was previously arrested in early May 2017 after being severely beaten by Intelligence agents at his residence in Khorramshahr. He was later sentenced to four years in prison and two years of exile on charges including "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran" and "membership in opposition groups."
Motaveri served his four-year prison term in Ahvaz Central Prison and completed his two years of exile in North Khorasan Province.
