Kurdish man Hiwa Behin arrested to serve prison sentence

Hiwa Behin, a Kurdish man from Bukan, was arrested and transferred to the city's central prison after appearing at the Enforcement of Judgments Office for the execution of his six-month prison sentence.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 41-year-old Hiwa Behin was arrested for the execution of his six-month discretionary prison sentence and transferred to the central prison of Bukan.
Previously, the Criminal Court Branch 101 of Bukan, presided over by Judge "Fakhri," had sentenced him to six months in prison on the charge of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Hiwa Behin was initially arrested by the Intelligence Office of Bukan on Sunday, November 24, 2024, following a summons. He was temporarily released on Sunday, December 1, after posting a bail of 600 million tomans, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
