Hengaw: Thursday, February 27, 2025

On Wednesday, at least 10 Kurdish prisoners who had previously been sentenced to death on charges such as premeditated murder and drug-related offenses were executed in Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah (Kermashan) and Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. So far, Hengaw has verified the identities of seven of them.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, seven Kurdish prisoners were executed in Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizelabad Prison). The identities of four of them have been confirmed: Milad Moradi (27 years old), Ali Cheshmeh-Sefidi (31 years old), Mohammad Fereidouni, and Behrouz Safari Qaleh-Zanjiri (36 years old). All had previously been sentenced to death on similar charges of "premeditated murder."

At the same time, three prisoners from Kermanshah were also executed on drug-related charges, and Hengaw is in the process of confirming their identities.

According to Hengaw sources, Milad Moradi, a resident of Kermanshah, had been in detention for two years; Ali Cheshmeh-Sefidi, also from Kermanshah, for six years; Mohammad Fereidouni for four years; and Behrouz Safari Qaleh-Zanjiri for four years before being sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On the same day, the death sentences of three other prisoners were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. They were identified as Alireza Basati-Nia (a 23-year-old resident of Ilam living in Tehran), Sajad Eghbali Garavand (from the Garavand region of Kuhdasht County), and Mostafa Hajir Behrouz (a 40-year-old from Asadabad, Hamadan Province).

A source close to the family of Hajir Behrouz told Hengaw: "Mostafa Hajir Behrouz was arrested five years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. His execution was carried out secretly, without informing his family."

Additionally, Alireza Basati-Nia was arrested two years ago, and Sajad Eghbali Garavand three years ago, both on "premeditated murder" charges, and were subsequently sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these 10 Kurdish prisoners has not been announced in state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
