Five prisoners executed in Amol and Ghezel Hesar Prisons

The death sentences of at least five prisoners, including four inmates in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and one in Amol Central Prison, were carried out. The executed prisoners had been convicted on charges related to drug offenses, premeditated murder, and armed robbery.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the executions of Hossein Yavari, Sasan Mirhadi, Behrouz Mohammadi, and Reza Anzali-Chi were executed took place in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. Simultaneously, Malek Parsa was executed in Amol Central Prison, Mazandaran Province.

Hossein Yavari, 28, a Kurdish man from Kermanshah, and Behrouz Mohammadi from Tehran were executed on premeditated murder charges. Sasan Mirhadi, a Lor man from Dezful, was executed on charges of “Moharebeh” (waging war against God) through armed robbery. Reza Anzali-Chi, 45, was executed on drug-related charges.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Malek Parsa, a Mazanderani man from Amol, was executed in Amol Central Prison on premeditated murder charges.

As of the time of this report, no state-affiliated media, particularly those linked to the judiciary, have announced the executions of these five prisoners.
