Kurdish cultural activist Abdollah Ahmadzadeh arrested by security forces in Saqqez

Abdollah (Rebaz) Ahmadzadeh, a Kurdish cultural activist from Saqqez, has been arrested by Iran’s Intelligence Ministry forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. He is a member of the “Halabja” Cultural Association in Saqqez.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 45-year-old Abdollah Ahmadzadeh, a father of two and a resident of the Hamallawa neighborhood in Saqqez, was detained by security forces.
A source close to Ahmadzadeh’s family stated that following his arrest, intelligence forces searched his home.
As a member of the Halabja Cultural Association, Ahmadzadeh has been actively involved in organizing cultural events commemorating the anniversary of the Iraq's Ba’athist state’s chemical attack on Halabja.
As of the time of this report, no information has been disclosed regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him.
