Mohammad Danyali, a Kurdish cultural activist and member of the "Banar Abdanan" mountaineering group from Abdanan, a district in Ilam province, was arrested and transferred to prison to serve his sentence.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, Mohammad Danyali, 24, from Abdanan, was arrested in Dehloran to serve a two-year prison sentence and transferred to Ilam Central Prison.

Previously, Mohammad Danyali had been sentenced to two years of imprisonment, including time served, on charges of "assembly and collusion against national security" and "committing social crimes."

On the evening of May 14, 2023, while he had relocated from Abdanan to Dehloran for work, he was arrested by government forces and taken to the Ilam Intelligence Detention Center.

Ultimately, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, he was temporarily released from Ilam Prison after posting a bail of five billion tomans until the end of the legal proceedings.

It is worth noting that during his detention, on Friday, June 9, 2023, Mohammad Danyali went on a hunger strike at the Ilam Intelligence Detention Center in protest against being denied access to his case file and having his head forcibly shaved.
