Karim Jalili marks sixth day of Hunger Strike at Masjed Soleyman Prison

Karim Jalili, a Lor man from Masjed Soleyman city, Khuzestan province, has gone on a hunger strike to protest his condition in the city's prison. He has spent the past 28 days in detention.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Karim Jalili, a 41-year-old man from Masjed Soleyman, has been on a hunger strike in the city's prison since Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

An informed source close to Karim Jalili's family told Hengaw that, the political defendant began his hunger strike six days ago to protest his uncertain situation and the IRGC's intelligence trumped-up files.

The source added that Karim Jalili's case has been referred to the Dezful court, and he will continue his hunger strike until his condition is clarified.

Karim Jalili was arrested by IRGC forces in Masjed Soleyman on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Earlier, Hengaw reported that Karim Jalili was arrested for his activities on social media regarding issues such as International Women's Day and publishing posts in support of the man killed from Izeh, Abol Korkor.

Karim Jalili was also arrested by government forces during the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement and the protests of November 2019 and January 2017.
