Hengaw: Monday, May 5, 2025
Two Kurdish brothers from the village of Gog Tappeh in Bukan, Musa Yadiar and Hamzeh Yadiar, were arrested by agents of Iran’s Intelligence Agency for wearing traditional Kurdish khaki clothing and a jamaneh (a Kurdish shoulder covering) at a friend’s wedding.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, intelligence agents arrested Hamzeh Yadiar (25) and Musa Yadiar (26) in Bukan using excessive force and transferred them to an undisclosed location.
A source close to the Yadiar family told Hengaw that the brothers were detained at Musa Yadiar’s workplace, a local shop, and were physically assaulted during the arrest.
“Their only ‘offense’ was wearing jamaneh and traditional Kurdish attire at a wedding ceremony in Bukan,” the source added.
Following the arrest, intelligence agents raided the family home, searched the premises, and caused panic among the household members.
As of now, there is no information about the brothers’ whereabouts or condition, and family efforts to locate them have been unsuccessful.
