Mazandaran: Two Baha'i adherents arrested by security forces

Hengaw – Thursday, June 26, 2025
Noyan Hejazi and Nazanin Abedini, two Baha'i adherents from the cities of Juybar and Qaemshahr in Mazandaran Province, were arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Nazanin Abedini—a children’s music teacher from Qaemshahr—and Noyan Hejazi, a resident of Juybar, were detained in their private homes.
During the raids, security forces conducted thorough searches of both residences and confiscated personal belongings, including mobile phones, laptops, and books.
In Abedini’s case, the agents entered the home by climbing over the yard wall and breaking down the front door—without presenting a search warrant.
There is no confirmed information regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges brought against them, or their current whereabouts.
