Kurdish activist Reza Ezzat Taj re-arrested in Oshnavieh

Reza Ezzat Taj, a Kurdish activist from Oshnavieh (Shno), has been arrested once again by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to an undisclosed location. He has previously faced multiple detentions and summons due to his civil activities.
 
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Taj—who is from the village of Shahvaneh in the Oshnavieh region—was arrested on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
 
Sources familiar with the case report that his arrest followed a summons to the Oshnavieh Intelligence Office, where he was subsequently taken into custody.
 
The specific charges and reasons for his arrest remain undisclosed at the time of reporting.
 
Taj was previously detained by security forces in Oshnavieh on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was released on temporary bail after 13 days, on July 9, 2021, pending further legal proceedings.
