Soroush Yousefzadeh arrested by security forces in Mahabad

Soroush Yousefzadeh, a Kurdish resident from the city of Mahabad, was arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Yousefzadeh was detained in the early hours of Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his private residence in Mahabad.

Sources familiar with the case report that security forces confiscated several of his personal belongings, along with the mobile phones of his father and brother.

No information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, his current whereabouts, or the charges brought against him.
