Keysan Shahabi violently arrested by intelligence forces in Izeh

Keysan Shahabi, a Lor-Bakhtiari man from Izeh, located in Khuzestan Province, has been violently arrested by agents of Iran’s Intelligence Department and transferred to an undisclosed location. Shahabi was previously detained during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrest took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Izeh.

Shahabi was beaten during the arrest, which was carried out by plainclothes intelligence agents without the presentation of an arrest warrant.

He was earlier arrested on April 10, 2023, in Izeh during protests related to the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising. Shahabi was subsequently transferred to Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz and later released on bail in August 2023.

No official charges have been announced, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
