Hossein Parasteh arrested in Bushehr, his fate remains unknown

Hossein Parasteh, a young resident of Kangan, a city in Bushehr Province, has been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and his whereabouts remain unknown. 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hossein Parasteh, 26, from the city of Kangan, has been held incommunicado for 20 days. No public information is available regarding his condition or location. 

The security and judicial authorities have told Hossein’s family—without any details—that “he is in custody and will not be released anytime soon.” 

His arrest stems from publishing critical content on social media. The specific charges against him remain unknown. 

Hossein Parasteh was arrested by security forces in Kangan on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and was later transferred to the city of Bushehr.
