Five prisoners executed in separate cases across Iran

The death sentences of five prisoners—Khodayar Ahmadkhani, Saman Heydari, Behzad Gholamzadeh, Latif Karegar, and Mohammad Ahmadkhani—were carried out in the prisons of Taybad, Shiraz, and Aligudarz. These individuals had been sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran in separate cases involving drug-related charges and premeditated murder.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, July 26, 2025, Ahmadkhani, a 46-year-old resident of Mashhad, was executed in Taybad Central Prison in Razavi Khorasan Province. He had been arrested seven years earlier on charges related to drug offenses and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
Earlier, on the morning of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the executions of three other prisoners were carried out at Adelabad Central Prison in Shiraz. Gholamzadeh and Karegar, both 40 years old and residents of Kashan, had been convicted in separate drug-related cases. Heydari, a resident of Shiraz, had been sentenced to death on a charge of premeditated murder.
According to informed sources, Gholamzadeh had been detained for four years, Karegar for six years, and Heydari for six years prior to their executions. Gholamzadeh and Karegar had both been transferred from Pirbano Prison to Adelabad Prison for the implementation of their sentences.
Separately, on the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, the execution of a Lor prisoner, Mohammad Ahmadkhani, was carried out in Aligudarz Central Prison in Lorestan Province. He had been arrested five years earlier on a charge of premeditated murder and was sentenced to death.
The executions have not been announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the Iranian judiciary.
