Borujerd– Ahmad Moazami and Leila Saremi, relatives of slain November 2019 protester, arrested by Intelligence Forces

Ahmad Moazami Goudarzi and Leila Saremi, the uncle and aunt-in-law of Reza Moazami Goudarzi—one of the victims of the November 2019 nationwide protests—have been arrested by Iranian intelligence forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the Lor couple from Borujerd was violently detained at their home on Tuesday, July 23, 2025, by plainclothes agents affiliated with the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The arrest was carried out without the presentation of a court warrant. Both individuals were subjected to physical assault during the operation.

Sources close to the family confirmed that agents also seized mobile phones and communication devices belonging to the couple.

No information has been made available regarding the reasons for their arrest, any charges filed against them, or their current condition and whereabouts.
