Four Kurdish men from Saqqez remain in arbitrary detention in Sanandaj

Hengaw – Sunday, August 24, 2025
Iranian authorities continue to hold four Kurdish residents of Saqqez — Zakaria Moradi, Omid Rahimzadeh, Mahdi Kamali, and Mohammad Aminpour — at the Ministry of Intelligence detention center in Sanandaj, a week after their arrest.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the four men were detained on August 4, 2025, by security forces and transferred to the Sanandaj facility. No information has been provided to their families regarding their fate or legal status.
Relatives told Hengaw that the detainees have been denied access to phone calls, family visits, and legal counsel.
Sources reported that Moradi, Rahimzadeh, and Kamali were arrested at their homes in Saqqez. Aminpour was detained shortly afterward, after being lured to what he believed was a work-related appointment and then arrested in a group raid by security agents.
The reasons for the arrests, the charges against the men, and details of their detention remain unknown.
