Iran executes seven prisoners across the country
Hengaw — Saturday, December 20, 2025
Iran has carried out the death sentences of seven prisoners — including two Lor men — in the prisons of Ardabil, Nahavand, Kermanshah, Aligudarz, Karaj, Hamedan, and Ahvaz. All had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges of premeditated murder or drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions of three prisoners were carried out at dawn on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Ardabil Prison, Nahavand Prison, and Dizel-Abad Prison in Kermanshah. They were identified as Hesam Nozari, a Turkish prisoner from Ardabil; Mohammad-Javad Kalani, a Lor prisoner from Nahavand in Hamedan Province; and Behzad Hosseini-Rad, a Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah. All three had been convicted of premeditated murder in separate cases.
On the same day, Kian Papi, a Lor prisoner from Aligudarz in Lorestan Province, and Yashar Tehrani-Moqaddam were executed on murder charges in Aligudarz and Karaj. Additionally, Moslem Salimi was executed on drug-related charges in Hamedan.
Meanwhile, the death sentence of an Arab prisoner, Sajjad Marmozi, from Hamidiyeh in Khuzestan Province, was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. He had been arrested three years earlier on charges of premeditated murder during a group dispute and subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
None of these executions have been announced by Iranian state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
