Morteza Damour, father of 2019 protest victim, arrested in Karaj

Iranian intelligence agents have arrested Morteza Damour, the father of a man killed during the November 2019 protests, in Karaj and transferred him to Hamedan Central Prison.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Damour, 70, was detained at his home on Saturday, August 16, and taken into custody by intelligence forces.
His son, Masoud, confirmed in a video posted online that his father had been moved to Hamedan Prison.
The arrest was linked to a protest video published on social media.
Damour’s son, Vahid, 30, was shot twice by security forces in Karaj on November 17, 2019, during the nationwide protests. He suffered lung injuries and died while being transferred to hospital.
