Sajad Molaei Hakani executed in public in Larestan – Spouse’s execution to follow

The death sentence of Sajad Molaei Hakani, who had been convicted of premeditated murder last year, was carried out in public in Larestan, Fars Province. His wife, Mahsa Akbari, the second defendant in the case, is also scheduled to be executed in prison in the coming days.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of Sajad Molaei Hakani, a resident of Beyram, was carried out in public on the morning of Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Local media reported that last year Hakani, with the alleged assistance of his wife, murdered a mother and her three children with the motive of robbery and was sentenced to death on these charges.
Quoting Sadrollah Rajaei-Nasab, head of the Judicial Council of Fars Province, state media noted: “The death sentence of the second defendant in this case, the wife of the first defendant, will be carried out in prison in the presence of the victims’ family.”
Reports further stated that following the four murders, the defendants attempted to abduct the family’s fourth child but were arrested in the act.
