Iranian authorities carry out public execution in Kordkuy

The death sentence of a prisoner was carried out in public in the city of Kordkuy, Golestan Province. He had previously been sentenced to death on charges of murdering three people. 

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of a male prisoner was carried out at dawn on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in public in Kordkuy. 

State media reported that the prisoner had been arrested last year in Kordkuy on charges of murdering a couple and a young woman with a firearm. 

The prisoner, whose identity has not been disclosed, was ultimately sentenced to public execution by Branch 2 of the Criminal Court One of Golestan Province.
