Eight prisoners executed in multiple prisons across Iran

Authorities carried out the execution of eight prisoners on Sunday in facilities across Iran, including Khorramabad, Arak, Jiroft, Shiraz, Gorgan, and Babol. Those executed were identified as Ghodrat Dehqani, Saeed Parsaei, Mehdi Veysi, Rasoul Nouri, Mahmoud Nazari, Khashayar Amiri, Esmail Rahimi-Tabar, and one other individual whose identity has not yet been confirmed. They had been sentenced to death on charges of drug-related offenses and premeditated murder.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rasoul Nouri was executed at dawn in Arak Central Prison on drug-related charges. In Jiroft Central Prison, Mahmoud Nazari from Isfahan and Saeed Parsaei, 40, from Shiraz, were also executed for drug-related offenses.

In Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison, Esmail Rahimi-Tabar, from Cheshmeh Bardi village in Kouhmareh Sorkhi, was executed for premeditated murder, alongside Ghodrat Dehqani from Shiraz, who had been convicted on murder-related charges.

Elsewhere, Khashayar Amiri, convicted on drug-related charges, was executed in Gorgan Central Prison. Another man, whose identity has not yet been established, was executed in Babol Central Prison in Mazandaran Province. State media reported that he had been convicted of killing his mother-in-law and his five-year-old child.

In Khorramabad Central Prison, the execution of Mehdi Veysi, convicted of premeditated murder, was also carried out.

Seven of the eight executions had not been reported by state-run media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, at the time of publication.
