Iran executes 13 prisoners across six provinces

Hengaw – Monday, September 29, 2025
The death sentences of 13 prisoners — Behnam Mir Ahmadi, Milad Kiani, Kamal Almasi, Morad Jafar Beigi, Samad Rezapanah, Ali Samsari, Saman Samsari, Salahaddin Aghamohammadi, Mehran Beyranvand, Mostafa Kadkhodaei, Younes Ahmadi, Qadri Nazari, and Hossein Ahmadvand — convicted on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses,” were carried out in the prisons of Isfahan, Qom, Sari, Yasuj, Malayer, and Khorramabad.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, September 29, 2025, two prisoners — Behnam Mir Ahmadi, from Fooladshahr, Isfahan, convicted on drug charges, and Milad Kiani, convicted of murder — were executed in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
That same day, three men were executed in Qom Central Prison: Kamal Almasi (38, from Saveh), Morad Jafar Beigi (31, from Qom), and Samad Rezapanah (40, from Karaj). Rezapanah was imprisoned on drug charges, while Almasi and Jafar Beigi had been arrested three and four years earlier on similar charges.
On Sunday, September 28, two relatives — Ali Samsari (29) and Saman Samsari (26) — were executed in Sari Central Prison. They were convicted of killing a friend who had harassed their sister.
That same day, Salahaddin Aghamohammadi (40, from Yasuj, father of one) was executed in Yasuj Central Prison, four years after being convicted on drug-related charges.
On Saturday, September 27, Mehran Beyranvand, a Kurdish prisoner convicted of murdering his wife, was executed in Malayer Prison, Hamedan Province. That same morning, Mostafa Kadkhodaei, from Kerman, convicted of drug trafficking, was executed in Isfahan’s Dastgerd Prison.
Also on September 27, two men were executed in Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsiloun): Younes Ahmadi, a Kurd from Kuhdasht imprisoned for six years, and Qadri Nazari, a Lur from Khorramabad imprisoned for eight years, both on murder charges.
Earlier, on Wednesday, September 24, Hossein Ahmadvand (approx. 56, from Malayer) was executed in Malayer Prison. He had been convicted of murdering Brigadier General Mahmoud Khodadad during an attempted arrest. Reports indicate he had earlier killed his 22-year-old son, injured another son, and attempted to kill his wife before being stopped by security forces.
Of these 13 executions, only the case of Hossein Ahmadvand was reported by Iranian state media — and even then, without his full identity disclosed. This lack of transparency reflects the judiciary’s systematic secrecy surrounding executions in Iran.
