Eight people executed in multiple Iranian prisons

Iranian authorities have executed eight prisoners in separate facilities in Ahvaz, Gorgan, Qom and Dezful. The individuals include Youssef Asadi Kahbad, Ahmad Bani Asad, Behzad Parsa, Abdollah Mohseni, Javad Mohammadpanah, Hamid Farjam, Saman Abdoli and Yasin Afshari. They had been convicted on charges of premeditated murder or drug-related offenses.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, two Arab prisoners were executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz at dawn on Wednesday September 10 2025. They were Youssef Asadi Kahbad, 31, from Kahbad village in Izeh, and Ahmad Bani Asad, 38, from Susangerd. Bani Asad had been sentenced for murder during a dispute, while Asadi had been in detention for seven years on a murder charge.
On the same day executions were carried out in Gorgan Central Prison for Behzad Parsa, a Lor prisoner held for six years on drug-related charges, and Abdollah Mohseni, 36, from Gorgan, a father of one who had been detained for four years on similar charges.
Separately, at dawn on Tuesday September 9 2025, Javad Mohammadpanah from Saveh and Hamid Farjam from Tehran were executed in Qom Central Prison. Mohammadpanah had been imprisoned for four years and Farjam for two on charges connected to narcotics offenses.
Also that day authorities executed Saman Abdoli, a Lor prisoner from Dezful convicted of premeditated murder, in Dezful Prison in Khuzestan Province.
In an earlier case, at dawn on Saturday September 6 2025, Yasin Afshari, a Turkish prisoner from Hamedan who had been arrested five years ago on a murder charge, was executed in Qom Central Prison.
None of these executions had been reported by state-controlled media, including outlets linked to Iran’s judiciary.
