Eleven prisoners executed across Iranian prisons

The death sentences of eleven prisoners, including one whose identity remains under investigation, were carried out in eight prisons across Iran, including Shiraz, Qom, Zanjan, Isfahan, Birjand, Ghezel Hesar, Gorgan, and Yazd. The prisoners had been convicted on charges of murder and drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, two prisoners identified as Nader Abdi and Alireza Keshavarz were executed in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz, on drug-related charges.
On the same day, Khosrow Vafadar, a 34-year-old Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah, was executed in Qom Central Prison after being convicted of drug-related offenses.
Also on Wednesday, Abolfazl Taremi, convicted of murder, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison, while Saman Talebi, sentenced on drug-related charges, was executed in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
In a separate case, Ebrahim Azizi was executed in Birjand Prison in South Khorasan Province on similar drug-related charges.
A 35-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been verified, was executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. According to the state-run news outlet Etemad Online, he had been sentenced to death four years ago for the alleged murder of a man named Jamshid in the forests of Lavizan, Tehran.
In Gorgan Central Prison, two separate executions were carried out: Vahid Salahshour, convicted of murder, was executed on Wednesday, and Mahmoud Shafiei, a 37-year-old man from Gorgan convicted of drug offenses, was executed earlier, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Separately, Azim Dastavar, convicted of murder, was executed in Yazd Central Prison on Tuesday, October 21, and Sadegh Nikroush, convicted of murder, was executed in Qom Central Prison on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Iranian state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not reported these executions.
