The death sentences of nine prisoners, Mohammad Omar Zardkouhi, Mehrdad Moradi, Manouchehr Mehki, Amir Nazari, Meysam Bagheri, Reza Sabzi, Safarali Rezaei, Marouf Fattahi, and another identified only by the initials M.A., were carried out in the prisons of Zahedan, Arak, Aligudarz, Rasht, Shahroud, Semnan, Tabriz, and Ghezel Hesar. All had been convicted in separate cases on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offences.”
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Zardkouhi, a 28-year-old Baloch man from the village of Peydeg in the Zardkouh region of Sarbaz County, was executed at dawn in Zahedan Central Prison on Sunday, October 26, 2025. He had been arrested two years earlier in Iranshahr on charges of “murder” and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On the same day, Moradi, who had been sentenced to death on “drug-related charges,” was executed in Arak Central Prison, while Mehki, a Lor prisoner convicted of “murder,” was executed in Aligudarz Prison in Lorestan Province.
In Lakan Prison in Rasht, Nazari and Bagheri, both 34 years old and from Karaj, were executed at dawn on Saturday, October 25, 2025. According to informed sources, Nazari had been convicted on “drug-related charges,” while Bagheri had been arrested six years earlier on similar charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Sabzi, another prisoner convicted of “drug-related offences,” was also executed that day in Shahroud Central Prison in Semnan Province.
In Semnan Central Prison, Rezaei, a 40-year-old prisoner from Semnan, was executed at dawn on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He had been arrested about six years earlier on charges of “drug trafficking” and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
That same day, Fattahi, a 30-year-old Turk man from Tabriz, was executed in Tabriz Central Prison. He had been arrested five years earlier following a street altercation and later sentenced to death on charges of “murder.”
Another execution took place in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, where a prisoner identified only as M.A. was executed on Thursday, October 23, 2025. According to the Legal Affairs Deputy of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, M.A. had been arrested seven years earlier on charges of killing Second Lieutenant Asadollah Khazaei. Reports indicate that while fleeing in a stolen vehicle on the Khademabad–Shahriar road, the prisoner ignored police warnings to stop and struck the officer, who later died from severe injuries and internal bleeding.
The executions of eight of the nine prisoners had not been announced by state-controlled media, including outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
