Iran carries out executions of eight prisoners in six different prisons

The death sentences of eight prisoners, identified as Abdolkarim Sasouli, Nourkhoda Ahmadi, Javad Naeimi, Mohammad Goodarzi, Mehdi Hosseini, Arzhang Nabavi, Hassan Hajizadeh, and Farid Emami, were carried out in the prisons of Birjand, Semnan, Borujerd, Urmia, Maragheh, and Khaf. All eight had previously been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offences.”

Based on information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Abdolkarim Sasouli, approximately 60 years old and a father of seven from Zabol, and Nourkhoda Ahmadi were executed in Birjand Prison, South Khorasan Province. Their executions took place at dawn on Monday, November 10, 2025. According to informed sources, Sasouli had been imprisoned for three years on charges of “drug-related offences,” while Ahmadi had also been arrested and sentenced to death on similar charges.

Naeimi, who had been convicted of “premeditated murder,” was executed in Semnan Central Prison on the same day.

Goodarzi, a Lor prisoner sentenced to death for “premeditated murder,” was executed in Borujerd Prison, Lorestan Province. His execution was carried out on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Hosseini, a 46-year-old Turkish prisoner convicted on charges of “drug-related offences,” was executed in Urmia Central Prison that same day.

Nabavi, a 49-year-old Turkish prisoner from Zanjan and resident of Maragheh, was executed in Maragheh Prison. According to informed sources, he had been arrested four years earlier in connection with a fatal altercation and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on a charge of “premeditated murder.” His execution was also carried out on Sunday.

Hajizadeh, 30, from Semnan, was executed in Semnan Central Prison. He had been arrested one year and twenty days earlier on charges of “drug possession” and later sentenced to death.

Emami, who had been convicted of “premeditated murder,” was executed in Khaf Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province.

None of these executions have been reported by state-controlled media or outlets affiliated with the Iranian judiciary.
