Two prisoners executed in Khorramabad and Ilam prisons: Hafez Rahmati and Homayoun Safari

The death sentences of two prisoners, Hafez Rahmati, a Lor from Khorramabad, and Homayoun Safari, a Kurd from Ilam, were carried out in the central prisons of Khorramabad and Ilam. Both men had been convicted of “premeditated murder.”

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, October 11, 2025, Hafez Rahmati was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison. Sources confirmed that he had been arrested several years ago on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

At the same time, the execution of Homayoun Safari, a Kurdish prisoner from Ilam, was carried out in Ilam Central Prison. According to informed sources, Safari had also been convicted of murder and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

The executions have not been announced by state media or outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
