Hengaw – Friday, October 17, 2025

Amir Baloch, a 17-year-old from Sarbaz in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province, has been sentenced by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ten years and six months in prison. He has spent the past nine months in detention.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Baloch, a resident of the Kuhon area in Sarbaz, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Zahedan.

The independent outlet Haalvsh, citing local sources, reported that the verdict was issued without a fair trial and without any evidence or legal documentation being presented. The ruling was reportedly intended to pressure Baloch’s relatives to cooperate with security agencies, particularly the Ministry of Intelligence.

Baloch has remained in detention for the past eight months and 17 days and has been denied release despite his family providing the bail set at 1.5 billion rials.

The Baloch minor was arrested on January 26, 2025, following a violent raid by security forces in Sarbaz. After being beaten and taken into custody, he was later transferred to Zahedan Central Prison.
