Eleven prisoners executed across multiple Iranian prisons

Eleven prisoners, identified as Akbar Zamani, Yusef Abadipour, Naser Haseli, Hushang Nowruzi, Javad Sadeqi, Samad Haqverdi, Hesam Rahimkhani, Javad Moridan, Mahmoud Azizi, Mohsen Fakhrayi and Nemat Shamlu, were executed in the prisons of Shahr-e Kord, Bushehr, Karaj, Borazjan, Ahvaz and Neyshabur after convictions on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related charges.”
Based on information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the authorities carried out the execution of a Lor prisoner, Akbar Zamani, in Shahr-e Kord Central Prison at dawn on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Zamani had been arrested and sentenced to death on murder charges.
Authorities in Bushehr Central Prison executed Yusef Abadipour on the same day. Abadipour had been convicted of murder.
In Mashhad, officials put two prisoners from the city to death. Mohsen Fakhrayi and Nemat Shamlu were executed in Vakilabad Prison after murder convictions.
Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz also carried out an execution that day. Authorities put Naser Haseli to death after a conviction on drug-related charges.
Executions continued in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, where officials implemented the death sentences of Hushang Nowruzi and Javad Sadeqi. Both had been arrested in separate murder cases and later received death sentences.
Another execution took place in Borazjan Prison in Bushehr Province, where officials put Samad Haqverdi to death at dawn on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Haqverdi had been convicted of murder.
Two Arab prisoners, Hesam Rahimkhani, 45, from Shadegan in Khuzestan, and Javad Moridan, 31, from Ahvaz, were executed in Sepidar Prison at dawn on Monday, November 17, 2025. According to informed sources, Rahimkhani had been detained five years earlier in connection with a family-related dispute that resulted in murder charges, while Moridan had been arrested eight years ago over a similar accusation. Both were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Officials in Neyshabur Prison in Razavi Khorasan Province also put Mahmoud Azizi to death at dawn on Monday, November 17, 2025, following a conviction on murder charges.
Iranian state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not released any information regarding these executions.
