Two Kurdish dentists from Divandarreh, Azad Sobhani and Zaniyar Moradi, have been detained by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and remain in a state of legal uncertainty more than a week after their arrest. The two men are currently held in the agency’s detention facility in Sanandaj (Sine).
Based on information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sobhani and Moradi, both fathers of one child and residents of Divandarreh, have now spent eight days in detention without any information regarding their legal status.
An informed source told Hengaw that Sobhani and Moradi are facing accusations of “links with one of the Kurdish political parties.”
The two dentists have been denied fundamental rights, including access to legal counsel and in-person family visits.
Sobhani and Moradi were arrested on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at their workplace in Divandarreh.
