Environmental activist Mohammad Ali Veysi arrested in Saqqez

Mohammad Ali Veysi (Rojhelat), a Kurdish environmental activist from Saqqez, has been arrested by agents of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Veysi, aged 30 and from Saqqez, was arrested on Sunday, November 9, 2025, by Ministry of Intelligence forces.

A source close to the family told Hengaw that Veysi was detained at his workplace, a car repair shop.

No information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, his fate, or his whereabouts.

Veysi has previously been summoned and detained by security agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran for his environmental activities.
