Woman prisoner Mitra Zamani executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

A woman prisoner, identified as Mitra Zamani, who had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder”, has been executed in Khorramabad Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Saturday, 1 November 2025, inside Khorramabad Central Prison. 

Zamani had been arrested five years earlier over allegations of killing her husband and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran following a criminal conviction.

Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, had not reported on the execution.
