Farshad Souri, a Kurdish resident of Urmia, was arrested six days ago by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and taken to the detention facility of the Ministry of Intelligence in the city. Since then, he has been held incommunicado, and his fate remains unknown.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, intelligence agents raided Souri’s home in Balow village, Urmia region, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, without presenting any judicial warrant. They arrested him and transferred him to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Urmia.

His brother, Javad Souri, was previously arrested by the Security Police on October 3, 2025, and released four days later on temporary bail.
No clear information has yet been made available about the reasons for Souri’s arrest, the charges against him, or his current condition.
