Baha’i women Venus Maqsoudi violently arrested by intelligence agents in Urmia

Venus Maqsoudi, a Baha’i resident of Urmia, was violently arrested by agents of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Maqsoudi, mother of two children aged three and eleven, was arrested on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her home.

During the raid, intelligence agents searched her residence and also inspected the apartment of her mother, located on the lower floor of the same building.

Several personal belongings and mobile phones belonging to Maqsoudi and her guests present during the raid were confiscated by the agents.

No information has been provided regarding the reasons for her arrest, the charges against her, or her current whereabouts.
