Iran executes eight prisoners across multiple facilities

Iranian authorities have executed eight prisoners in separate prisons across the country, based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

The executions were carried out in the early hours of Monday, December 22, 2025, in the prisons of Nishapur, Saveh, Isfahan, Gorgan, Dorud, Kerman, Kashan, and Zanjan. The prisoners had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges of “premeditated murder” and offenses “related to drug trafficking.”

Three prisoners, Majid Ahmadi from Nishapur in Razavi Khorasan province, Iman Bakhshi from Saveh, and Nariman Mohammadi from Isfahan, were executed on murder charges in the prisons of Nishapur, Saveh, and Isfahan.

On the same day, two other prisoners, Aydin Noorzad, a Turkmen from Gorgan, and Nourkhoda Moradi, a Lor from Dorud in Lorestan province, were also executed on murder charges in the prisons of Gorgan and Dorud.

In addition, three prisoners, Meshiri, whose first name remains unknown, Jamshid Nourmohammadi, and Abbas Omidi, were executed on charges related to drug trafficking in the prisons of Kerman, Kashan, and Zanjan.

Iranian state-affiliated media, particularly outlets linked to the judiciary, have not announced these executions.
