Nine prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, executed across Iran

Nine prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, have been executed in recent days in several prisons across Iran. All had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges of “premeditated murder,” “drug-related offences,” and “rape.”
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 21-year-old Amirhossein Zahedi from Mashhad was executed in Mashhad Central Prison after being arrested three years earlier at the age of 18 on charges of “premeditated murder” and later sentenced to death. His execution took place on October 30, 2025.
Turkmen prisoner Milad (Amin) Kobesh, from the village of Chay Qushan-e Bozorg near Gonbad Kavus, was executed in Gonbad Kavus Central Prison. Kobesh had been arrested in a joint case alongside another individual on charges of “murder.” His execution was carried out on October 29, 2025.
On the same day, 35-year-old Majid Shahpasandi from Zanjan was executed in Zanjan Central Prison after being arrested three years earlier on “drug-related” charges, including “trafficking narcotics,” and sentenced to death.
Also on October 29, the death sentences of two Afghan nationals who had been convicted on charges of “rape” were implemented in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
Lor prisoner Mostafa Afshar, previously convicted of “murder,” was executed in Malayer Prison in Hamadan Province. His execution took place on October 27, 2025. On the same day, Lor prisoner Malek Ali Amini, also convicted of “murder,” was executed in Nahavand Prison in Hamadan Province.
Deaf prisoner Habib Khani from Karaj, who had been convicted of “drug-related offences,” was executed in Qazvin Central Prison. His sentence was also carried out on October 27, 2025.
In a related case, the execution of Naser Mahi-Dashti from Fahraj in Kerman Province was carried out in Kerman Central Prison. Mahi-Dashti had been arrested five years earlier on “drug-related” charges and sentenced to death. His execution took place on September 2, 2025.
