Oshnavieh arrests rise to five as four more men detained by Iranian intelligence

Four additional Kurdish men from Oshnavieh (Shno), Hassan Shadikhah, Hersh Parnia, Esmail Seyedmahmoudian, and Shoresh Sarvati, have been detained by the Intelligence Ministry in the city, raising the total number of recent arrests to five.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sarvati, 28, from Naliwan village, was violently detained at his home at around 3 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, by Intelligence Ministry officers.

Shadikhah, from the village of Singan in Oshnavieh, was also detained around the same time by Intelligence Ministry forces.

Seyedmahmoudian, 45, an employee of the Agriculture Jihad Department, was detained with force in the city’s coastal park on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the presence of his family and without a judicial warrant.

Parnia, another resident of Oshnavieh, was detained by IRGC intelligence forces and transferred to an unknown location.

Shwana Ebrahimi, from the village of Alkawe, was also violently detained by IRGC intelligence forces on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

No verified information is available regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against the men, or their current situation in detention. According to relatives, all five detainees have been transferred to the Intelligence Ministry detention facility in Urmia.
