Shirzad Balayi and Fardin Fuladi, two Kurdish men from Eslamabad-e Gharb in Kermanshah (Kermashan) Province, were killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during recent anti-government protests in the city.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that the two men were shot and killed on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Shirzad Balayi, a father of two, and Fardin Fuladi were both residents of Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad).

According to informed sources, their bodies were buried on Saturday, January 10, at Cheshmeh Khani Chikan Mansouri cemetery.

Despite pressure and threats from Iranian authorities, the families prevented state agents from taking control of the bodies and conducted the burial independently.

With these two deaths, the total number of people killed during the protests in Shabad has risen to four. Hengaw had previously reported the killing of two other protesters, Halako Ivani and Amirali Jalilian.
