December Protests – Ali Dehghan-Juqan and Majid Vaezzi killed by government forces in Tehran

Ali Dehghan-Juqan, a resident of Tehran, and Majid Vaezzi, a Gilak man from Langarud, were killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during the December protests in the capital.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ali Dehghan-Juqan (55), a father of two, was shot and killed by government forces on Friday, January 9, 2026, in Tehran.
Ali Dehghan-Juqan was the brother of Masoumeh Dehghan-Juqan, a teachers’ union activist who has previously been arrested and subjected to repeated pressure by Iranian authorities.
In a separate incident, Majid Vaezzi, a resident of Langarud, was shot dead by government forces on Thursday, January 8, 2026, on one of Tehran’s streets while holding his young daughter in his arms.
According to reports, Vaezzi’s daughter temporarily lost her ability to speak due to severe psychological shock following the killing.
