Milad Azagh’s fate and whereabouts remain unknown 41 days after being shot in Tehran

Milad Azagh, a 21-year-old Lor man from Dehdasht in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province who was residing in Tehran, was severely wounded after being struck by live ammunition during protests in the capital. His fate and whereabouts remain unknown 41 days after the incident.

Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Azagh was critically injured in the head or neck on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Nabovat Boulevard area near Haft Hoz Park in Tehran. Since that night, no information has been available regarding his condition or location.

According to available information, individuals who were with him were forced to flee the scene as gunfire intensified and security forces carried out a crackdown in the area. Fearing arrest, they were unable to transfer him to a medical facility or determine what happened to him afterward.

Over the past 40 days, his family has made repeated inquiries at hospitals, medical centers, and security institutions, but their efforts have yielded no results. No official authority has provided any information about his condition, whereabouts, or legal status.
