Retired teacher Ali Ahmadi arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces in Shiraz

Ali Ahmadi, a retired schoolteacher from Nurabad Mamasani in Fars Province, has been arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ali Ahmadi, a retired educator from the Department of Education and a resident of Nurabad Mamasani, was arrested on Saturday, March 7, 2026, by Iranian government forces in the city of Shiraz and initially taken to an undisclosed location.
An informed source stated that Ahmadi’s arrest was carried out by Intelligence Organization forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He is currently being held in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
Ahmadi had previously been shot and injured by government forces during the December protests after delivering a speech at a memorial ceremony for individuals killed during the demonstrations.
Sources told Hengaw that the retired teacher had traveled to Shiraz to receive medical treatment and follow-up care for injuries sustained during the shooting. He was arrested by IRGC forces while returning to his hometown of Nurabad Mamasani.
No clear information has been released regarding the charges against Ali Ahmadi or the current condition of his health.
