Arrest of Nita Babanezhad and Parsa Emadi, two Baha’i residents in Isfahan

Nita Babanezhad, a Baha’i resident of Isfahan, and her son Parsa Emadi were arrested by Iranian government forces in the city last week and remain in detention with no clear information about their legal status.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian government forces arrested the two Baha’i residents in Isfahan on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

A source familiar with the case told Hengaw that government forces raided their home, presented an arrest warrant issued in both of their names, searched the residence, and then detained them.

The charge brought against the mother and son has been described as “propaganda against the state.”

The source added that, Parsa Emadi is currently being held in the “Alef-Ta” detention facility inside Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, while Nita Babanezhad is being held in the intake ward of Dowlatabad Prison in the city.
