Iranian authorities detain two cyber and technology activists in Tehran and Neyshabur

Iranian authorities have detained Amir Kiani, a cyber activist in Tehran, and Davood Ganji, a programmer and gamer in Neyshabur, in recent days.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian government forces raided the home of Amir Kiani in Tehran on Sunday, March 15, 2026, and arrested him. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location, and no information has been released regarding his health condition or the authority responsible for his detention.
Davood Ganji, who is active in computer programming and video gaming, was arrested one day earlier, on Saturday, March 14, at his residence in Neyshabur.
Authorities have yet to reveal the charges against them. Their current whereabouts and legal status remain unknown.
